TAREO is a non-governmental Organization based in Moshi,Kilimanjaro  as its Head Quarters and having a sub-office in Dare es salaam, ,Himo, Tanga and Arusha. It was founded and registered in 2008 .Before its registration, in 2008  the Center was ICT training center  project of  Moshi Institute of Technology (MIT). Its main purpose is to strive to provide ICT training as the solution to challenges facing rural Tanzania in accessing information,learning, and usefully information and data for their daily life.

To empower Communities and members in village ,ward, district and  at the national levels, and formed organizations and individuals, to effectively engage and influence leaders, policies, strategies and development programmers, through capacity building, information and knowledge sharing.

Member empowerment is done mainly through our capacity building programme as well as through organizational development training, fundraising, information sharing. While our advocacy work is centered on media engagement/advocacy, facilitating policy analysis, monitoring of development frameworks and facilitating anti-poverty campaign coalition
